Droop Between Two Different Generators

Dear,

Two different rating generators are there one is higher rating and another one is lower rating, it going to parallel, can it set same droop settings, if it is not, how much DROOP to be set at each generators? Please explain.

what droop you mentioned?...voltage droop or frequency droop?

You must set exactly the same droop level (voltage droop and speed droop) to these 2 generators. Normally the droop level should be ranged from 1% to 4%

Two di-similar rating generators can be synchronised very comfortably .The droop setting of both the generators should be same, preferrably 3% each. CVS Murthy, Manager Projects, Electric Power Division, GMMCOLimited

Dear Mr. DilSen,

You can synchronise 2 Generators with slightly varying Droop-Character in terms of Frequency, but the Load-Sharing will have to be precisely monitored or controlled.

The Alternator having less droop character will share more load. The Alternator having steep Drrop Character will share LESS load as the LOAD-SHARING of Alternators are INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL to the Droop Character.

Care is to be taken for avoiding Over-Loading of of the Alternator, having Less Droop Character which is good.
