Suppose you are away from the office and need your presence or power in the office immediately. You can not reach office timely. So you can call the concerned people and tell them that you assigned a person(any of your immediate subordinate)as your deputy for handling issues in your absence and he has the full power......This is called wire less power transmission.

You can expect so many rubish answer also. Stick with this answer only.

If significant distance is involved, power can be transmitted by a sending antenna to a receiving antenna. On present technology, so far as I know, the practical amount of power is rather small. Large-scale microwave or laser technology might improve on this, depending on how far the state of the art has advanced.

You mean Transfering Electrical power without wires/cables. Nice question. Looking forward to some good answers.

Tesla, that great engineer who practically invented AC, had a dream of this. Start with this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_energy_transfer

Let us all know what you learn from your research.

Also try to see a movie called "The Prestige" where an actor plays Nikola Tesla. There are YouTube videos too.

The OP never talked about electrical power (though he might have meant it).

So the efficient way of the power transfer is

1- as in #1 (delegation)

2- Convert to a form of power that can be transmitted - Thermal (Sun) - Light (Sun, Laser, maser,...) and then transmit.

Efficiency however still remains highly questionable (and that is even in #1)
