Boiler Design

02/22/2007 2:32 PM

I have heard about industries consuming low pressure steam are replacing there old package boiler and installing FBC coal/rice husk/bio mass fired boiler in which they generate super heated steam at high pressure and allow to pass from steam turbine and extract at required pressure for there plant and also get power at low cost.

Is it possible for any body to design such type of boiler for me for my requirement of 22 ton steam.

My plant requirement of steam is at pressure 4 kg/cm2(G).

How much power is generated from this plant.

If any software is available for design / calculation please suggest.

I have seen some fine biomass fired boilers of Brazilian design and manufacture. They are custom built and will burn just about anything that is a vegetable by-product and is dry, i.e, wood, sugar-cane bagasse (did I spell it right?), coffee grounds from instant coffee factories, citrus peels, and so on.

Biomass-fired packaged systems as engineered by KMW Systems from Canada are the most efficient I could identify, and they will burn anything organic, containing moisture content up to 60%. The combustion system is close-coupled to a boiler that can deliver up to 125,000 lbs of steam per hour (per train), at up tp 1200 psi and at temperature of 900C. Perfect and least expensive system to create energy from biomass. Call Richard Lepine there, he will give you the story. 519-614-3618 www.kmwenergy.com

Get a Consultant for 22 Tph steam output would also generate MWs electricity and these need to be selected on lad basis and lots of engineering involved. This is not your job and suggest you hire Co-generation Consultants for this.
