AHU?

One of the less known acronyms, this stands for "air handling unit." This type of unit involves more than just an evaporator coil. There may be provisions for mixing outside and recirculated air, reheating coils for humidity control, filters, exhaust air, positive/negative pressure rooms, etc. In other words, more treatment is provided than cooling alone.

If the controlled space is at high humidity, GI may rust, so aluminum is likely to be better. If there are corrosive vapors or mists present, SS304 or even SS316 is likely to be better still. Special conditions may dictate yet another choice of materials. This all depends on the specific situation. Fiberglass or plastic ductwork and other components might also be desirable.
