Retired Mechanical Engineer Offering Free Assistance

02/23/2007 6:19 AM

My father is a retired Mechanical Engineer with several years of experience. He has a disease that is similar to Parkinson's only much more severer. His mind is still as creative and quick as ever; he can still beat me at chess. I know he misses engineering challenges and would be of great value to any project that deals in his specialty. If you have a project that you are struggling with, or do not have the time, he would love to offer assistance at no-charge.

wow!

what a lovely and generous offer. your father is a great spirit.

is it possible to detail what was his field of expertise and what he is able to do now? actual design, critique a design or redesign it, problem solving or whatever?

my own plans are to develop appropriate technology devices in india in a not-for-profit centre currently under development.

please convey my admiration to him.

Hi ! I am delighted to know that despite ailing health you father wants to keep active by offering his free services to those who need. First of all my wishes for speedy recovery for leading a normal active life.

Please elaborate more about his current location , address, Phone and field of his expertise. I am sure he can visit loacal Enginnering college and interact with students.

Besides running my own mfg industry, I am rendering my part time services as visiting faculty in Three Engg Colleges around and come across many challanging situation raised by students for giving shape to their wildest dreams and ideas. If it meets with his approval I can post querries for his inputs. Please mailudayan121049@yahoo.co.in

I admire your strength and courage, I to have had to endure pains in my endeavors, due to severe back injury that took three years to regain stable employment.

I am very interested in any input you can offer in any avenue to help with my endeavors and with skill and determination you will succeed in anything you attempt.

Although you offer free assistance I will say this, if I am successful in my venture it will have major benefits for all involved. For a full overview of my goals you can visit my website at www.kenscustomworks.com

I want to express my joy that you are taking an active role in helping your father to stay active as an engineer and that he is willing to use his talents to help others. Since retirement, I have been active in working with NGOs with water projects to help the poorest of the poor obtain potable water. It has been rewarding far beyond my dreams; I have developed many friendships worldwide and my life is much more enjoyable than ever before.
I would encourage your father to consider picking one of the major problems facing the world's poor and become involved with an NGO that focuses on helping eleviate the problem.
