I think it is misspeld. it shoud be amb temp. This is the temperatur or the surrouding air, to cool the generator. Mostly it is 40 degree Celsius.

If the surrouding is hotter (dessert, close to a heat source), you can not use the total capacity of the generator.

I think it is misspeld too. It should be desert, not dessert.

amb temp = ambient temperature.

am·bi·ent   [am-bee-uhnt] –adjective 1. of the surrounding area or environment: The tape recorder picked up too many ambient noises. The temperature in the display case was 20° lower than the ambient temperature. 2.completely surrounding; encompassing: the ambient air.

It is highly inadvisable to post an e-mail address in an international forum. E-mail addresses are easily harvested by spambots. They quickly bombard it with advertisements for non-prescription pharmaceuticals, scam requests to update on-line banking details, links to matters of an intimate nature and scams purporting to be about getting large sums of money out of Nigeria, rendering the address practically useless.

Could be "ambiance, temporary" as in the mood musing and lighting surrounding your generator when you are there to repair it. I here they want candles and soft jazz with a little potpourri sprinkled around.
