About 10, depending on the efficiencies of these AC units.

For correct evaluation you have to take into consideration diversity of the load, confirm if the DG set is standby rated (emergency source) or if it is prime load rated as well as aviliability of power factor improvement (if any).

Dear Sir,

15 Kva single phase will deliver 12 Kw max. The electrical load of 1.5 ton window

unit will be 2 kw. One can connect a max of 5 units taking 80 % of unit's efficiency.

The units should be started is a staggered manner.

1.5 tonnes cooling = 18,000 BTU/h coming to 5.3kW cooling.

Required electric energy will be ~ 3.3kW power per unit.

A 15kVA DG will give 15*0.8=12kW and /3.3 = 3.6 units

Therefore, you can only use 3 x 1.5tonnes Air Cons leaving margins for starting and safe confortable running.

Answer = 3 units ONLY. (stretched to the border using utilisation factor, can take 4 units but no margin for surges...)
