What are all the points to be checked in the basic design description of DCS?

Dear ,

You have to check first how much the IO points or tags should your DCS handle?

How many cards do u require for DI, DO, AI and AO. may be there are some relay outputs so these have to be considered too.

Then you will send all these details to vendor who will give you his own specifications of DCS. For Example, CPU, cards, power consumption, cabinet style and their installation etc.

The document contains basic description of the DCS system hardware, software and some main function, not a complete DCS specification... I have to review the same.. can you help me

Has the vendor been issued with an I/O list and a drawing showing the overall system high-level architecture?

I/O list & drawings were not enclosed with the document. Its a 15 page brief description

Well, for a fuller proposal and as a basis for evaluation, send the vendor the above documents!

This document is only really needed to begin the programming. The original poster is currently upstream from that point.
