Nah...you just think you do.

Just my little jest.
But seriously, tell me in a month if you still think it's a good idea.

This has certainly become a popular project.

Here is a recent discussion on the subject. Search this forum with your keyword for others. Good luck with your studies.

This is difficult or maybe I'm just too damn paranoid. But cell phones can also operate IED's

Hello phoenix 911

Yes, a cell phone can be used for nefarious purposes. This particular nefarious purpose is fairly easy to accomplish, and process is not a big secret. "Home automation" seems to have become an assigned project at a number of schools; I seriously doubt this will be assembled.

The entire premise here is flawed. Our original poster's need to "...should be operated weather m at home or anywhere in the world." precludes using a conventional cellular phone. This is obviously homework.

As long as some one is ready to pay one will be able to do that by having cell phone which has half cercuit based on microwave and sensor needs.

For more high tech one can have board which is for cell-IR and Microwave for photo and sensor needs.

We are looking million dollar phone system

Dear all,

You all misunderstood the OP,

He just want to send commands to the house equipments ( A/C, Heater, Grass watering., etc....) via his cell phone, and receive warning via SMS ( gas leakage, intruder, etc....)

this does not need any fortune to do it or any special link as someones were mocking.

it just need a SIM card with international access ( as he needs it to operate from anywhere in the world) and GSM modem with some extra equipments not costy . max cost will not be more than 300usd for the syatem, sensors and actuators not included ..

You can search in made-in-china.com and you will find many many applications like this .

Please send me a private message to give some addresses to check with

regards

Not that easy

One need to have sensors based on what one needs to monitor and then needs chips to receive the signal and talk to SIMS card and communicate to mobile phone.

I do monitor my home from any place on planet as long I can get wireless signal for burgler and my cat in home and end up investing more than nine hundred US dollar. This expense also include 25 US dollar camera

Have a look here - you will still have to do a little bit of work though!

http://sheepdogsoftware.co.uk/ssds043.htm

or, set up your home automation running from a PC-based Scada application, with internet access and using VNC/VPN/TeamTalk it becomes accessible from any internet PC or internet-accessible cellphone.
