The injector is the device that routes fuel towards the cylinder and into the nozzle against the pressure that may be present in the cylinder.

The nozzle is the device that turns it into a spray within the cylinder as a precursor to combustion.

The injector is the house, mostly cylindrical, or assembly that houses
From top to bottom:[p]
1. The connector for diesel supply.
2. The spring assembly to adjust the "fire" pressure.
3. Sometimes a threaded part to screw it into the cylinder head.
4. The nozzle, which is the tip of the injector, and specifies the angle of spray and also the dose - combined with the needle - and the spring (see 2).
The nozzle can be headed straight forward or spray under an angle.

Nozzle:

part with fine cylindrical perforation and needle:

The complete injector:

The nozzle is a part inside - bottom

Nozzles tend to become just a bore in the injector what implies that the nozzle cannot be replaced anymore in newer diesel engines. A complete new injector is required by malfunctioning.
