A paddle-type switch might be applicable. Endress + Hauser (usual disclaimer)?

A stack switch like is used on gas-pack heat systems should work.I presume you simply want to know if you have flow or not, and to activate a switch.

These stack switches are commonly available at any HVAC supplier, and fairly cheap.

I've had better experience with solid state sensors similar to this one by IFM. I'm sure other manufacturers make them as well. There are no moving parts and the setpoints are adjustable.

Best of luck

Air flow can be proven by a differential pressure switch, plumbed with flexible tubing to either side of the fan. Usual problem is knowing what range switch to pick. If you can't beg, borrow, or steal a DP gauge, you could even make a water U tube manometer from a piece of flexible transparent tubing, so you can get an idea of what range you'll need.
