Software for electrical design for buidings

07/23/2010 11:13 PM

There is a plan to start a design facility to offer electrical designs for large buildings. It should take into account renewable energy concepts as well. Which software package is recommended ?

If you are using the NEC as your code this is a good product.

Thanks for all the responses which are really helpful. In fact it is an advice seeking effort before venturing into actions. N T Nair

A software is a tool only.It is advisable to follow a short course in design or to get advise from experienced design engineers before embarking.

Hi,

Please consider Stirling Engine based, co-generation power plant (CHP), supplying both heat and power for the building.

We are starting mass production of CHP Plants based on Stirling Engine, with multiple type of fuel burning option

CHP power plant based on Stirling Engine will have total effiiciency greater than 90%

Here is a site that lists CAD softwares, including about a dozen electrical programs.
