How to Decide the Suitable L-Angle

08/03/2010 12:41 PM

I am looking for some details as how to decide the suitable L-Angle. For instance , Let the table top and its leg be connected together by an L-Angle (cantilevel arrangement) only at its 2 sided and the table top has some 50KN. Legs are prevented from deflection/breaking. So my doubt is as how to decide the thickness of the L-Angle and how to derive as when i needed stiffner. Can anyone help me on this please. Thanks

Hi

You have to do bending moment calculations for your arrangement. It differs on the different arrangements you do in your design. And in Solid work software you can do the drawing and see the deflection. Or in other way you can refer strength of material, bending moment diagrams, mechanical deflection of material, est. articles.

If you can send your design in drawing form I can help you to do calculations

thanks,
