In the first equation: substitute Vx = Vr * Cos (theta) Vy = Vr * Sin (theta) Vz = Vz Then do the partial differentiation of the x and y coordinates and you will come up with equation 2. The cosines and sines cancel out. If they dont, then you made a mistake somewhere. The z coordinate stays the same. This is the momentum equation/navier stokes equation and sometimes easier to solve in a spherical or cylindrical system. who is the author of this book?
