1997 Ford Explorer Turbine Speed Sensor

i have a 1996 ford explorer 4x4

the 4wd low light and the overdrive off light blinks on and off

i put my scan tool on and it gave me the turbine speed sensor malfunction error

would the speed sensor cause this and where is this sensor?

and would this keep the 4wd from working?

Oh, I don't know about the problem frequency of the Fords. At least he does not have a Chevy Cavalier! There is one unreliable car!
