Fuel consumption is depends on the manufacturing of Generator and it will not be exactly same for all brands. Please refer your Generator manual for details of diesel consumption .

The consumption of fuel for Diesel Generator is deppend on technology of diesel machine we can not compare old technology with new technology. Any other reason for fuel comsumption is load. By the way the standard application to calculate fuel consumption for diesel = 0.2 ltr/hr/kVA. For example you have 1000 kVA diesel generator so the consumption of fuel = 200 ltr/hr. Of course it's not specific calculation but this way based on my experience.

my dear,
fuel consumption does not depend upon kva, but on Active KW load.
As I have experienced, for 500 kva dg set, fuel consumption @ 400 KW operating load, was only 78.8 Ltr./Hr.
For 320 KVA dg Set, at 256 KW opearting load, it was less then 60 Ltr. / Hr.
The formula involves the specific gravity of the fuel, which at this moment, I could not recollect. the constant is 0.1 & not o.2 ( but, on an average, 3.4 - 3.6 units/Ltr.
depends upon the manufacturer, & % loading.

Dear friend, referring to your Posting No.2, Irrespective of brand, the SPECIFIC FUEL CONSUMPTION will remain the same, if at all any variation, it will be a very small percentage, which may be negligible.
The best Diesel generator must give 3.83kwh per litre of Diesel.
I have installed in one of my projects with 4 Nos 360KVA Diesel generator set for a Glass Toughening projects. The DG set supplier guaranteed the perfomance with 3.83kwh per litre of diesel and the perfomance was certified.
About 3 weeks back a similar topic has appeared in this Forum and several members given their views and you can search in this forum and you will find the answer.
80% Load will give best Efficiency Range and the Specific Fuel Consumption at this load will be approximately 170 gms/kW.Hr. OR 0.21 Litre/kW.Hr, . for the clean diesel with out any adulteration.
FOR 60% and above the rated load, this value remains more or less constant.
