I am in need of a small torsion Spring with the following specs :Dia.=1.75 to 2.00 in.max no of coils= 3 to4 , Rod or inside dia.= 1 3/8 in. , Deflection angle=180 degrees, wire dia.= 1/8th in. One leg= 3 to 4 in. the other = 1 to 2 in. , The long leg rotates attached to a 18 in Arm. the short leg is Fixed. The required lifting strength is 6 to 8 lbs at the end of the 18 in. Arm. I have tried several combination`s but the coils become distorted , and end up with only 3 to 4 lbs of force. Should i use heavier Wire? or ? . Should the entire Torsion Spring assem. be enclosed to prevent distortion? . I am very limited on space . I would appreciate any suggestions to help solve this problem. My Name is Ralph Pope , Thanking you in advance , Ralph Pope Jr.

Maybe a coil spring is not an option, there are other types that may fit your needs better.

Try theese guys
