What we have here is a conundrum. What you have here is a failure to communicate.

"what P implies and what is NP"

In what context? Without any point of reference or context they're just letters.

I am sorry, I presumed that you know about this problem.

and if you are asking me what is P and NP then, exactly that is what am also looking for..

and about failure to communicate, then again I am sorry. I am in learning phase and trying hard to improve my communication skills.

But I would rather like to focus on P vs NP problem and its meaning.

I am enough criticised by CR4 users for my writing skills. Don't start again..

I want to know, what is the significance of this problem? and how is this problem related to practical situations?

I was criticising your questioning skills, not your writing skills.

I also question your motives.

and why you question my motive? If you want to answer, give it straight a way. If you don't want to, then ignore. why are you going off topic?

It's interesting that you are asking this question. Just yesterday you submitted the following puzzle:

http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/58516/Puzzle

If someone tried to work-out the puzzle mathematically, they would (or could) spend a very long time trying various combinations of numbers and not come up with a solution. Del the Cat, though, immediately pointed-out that there was no solution; it was a 'trick'.

That's similar to P vs NP: Can a computer determine if a problem is soluble in a reasonable length of time. If you were a computer scientist, this could be an extremely important question for your work.

As the Wikipedia link states:

Given a set of integers, does some nonempty subset of them sum to 0? For instance, does a subset of the set {−2, −3, 15, 14, 7, −10} add up to 0? The answer "yes, because {−2, −3, −10, 15} add up to zero" can be quickly verified with three additions. However, finding such a subset in the first place could take more time. Given the right certificates, "yes" answers to our problem can be verified in polynomial time, so this problem is in NP.

There are a couple of good puzzles in that "Puzzle" post. The one i gave, and one from Tornado. Regrettably, the op did not see it fit to try and solve them....

FYI

Sir, I have solved them way back. and did not feel like putting answer here.

I may not have brilliant logic like you all, but I too have solved some puzzles given on this forum.

My sincere apologies, i should have thought of this possibility before shooting off that post. And i must confess to you that i am a person of average intelligence, and do not qualify for your adjectives.

Sorry again.
