89c2051 Software

08/14/2010 4:25 PM

Hi, i recently got a 892051 programmer from a friend of mine. I am looking for free software where i can write the code, compile and download it to the chip.

I am layman at software programming, my friend suggested that we can get the software where we can directly program using the instruction to program with out any knowledge on c or c++

Thanks

Try this search <click here>. There are lots of possibilities - depends on how much you already know, and how hard you want to learn.

Have you got any ideas about what you want to do with it? Do you have, or can you make a circuit board to prototype-wire any of the ideas?

Not trying to put you off, but we need to know where you're coming from before we can tell you how to get where you want to go.

(Jeez - I sound like a pretentious twat. Still, I like that sentence, so maybe I'll keep it )

well, i got this universal programmer from TOPWIN 95. Along with it i received a CD, after installing it i couldnt find the editor where we can writ the program in assembly lanugage.

What i dont understand is it that we need to write it in some other editor and after compilation the hex file which will be generated can only be used with this topwin software or can we write the program directly in assembly language in topwin software

Anbody already using this programmer help me. how do i do it,

searched the topwin help, but found no good stuff

I'm not going to tell you I even know what a 89c2051 is or what its capabilities are, but I'm going to suggest that if you can do the programming in C or Java or C-Sharp or ANYTHING else other than assembly. You might have a better chance understanding software and programming if choosing another language.

I'm a senior in college and Computer Science (programming) is my major. I found assembly rough, but if you grasp it OR need to learn it. Don't be deterred by me. I also learned the languages I suggested first and way before Assembly so that could sway my standing point on the matter.
