Solar power for Borewells

03/04/2007 4:24 AM

Hi, Iam thinking about to develop the solar energy for Agriculture bore wells to give continuous supply. Was there any such type of developemnts are there?. In villages farmers are suffering with electricity. Daily 7 hrs are not sufficient to the acrs of land. Iam expecting cant we develop such type of system that can give the power supply to the agriculture from morning to evening. Please give me an idea, address, research centre, dealers if you know. And at the same time iam ready to takes part in the developmental reseach. My only anguish is that to show the way to farmers that they dont bother about the electricty.

There are thousands of project where such applications have been done. I do not think there is any need of research. Where are you located?

Talk with the Renewable agency in your state to get info from Ministry at the centrel level

Dear Mr. Alok,

Do you have any details about such agencies which are operated in Maharashtra state? Or atleast a budgetory project for 1HP pump with solar power?

Thanks in advance & best regards,

How deep now is the water table you pump from? Soon it will be deeper, in time the electric grid will not be able to supply the power. Solar is also a problem as the cost of solar is high

Why do you assume the water table will be deeper? Are you concerned there will be more users and that the water recharge will be insufficient? Water not removed from an aquifer by a well should continue to flow underground until it reaches either a surface depression (river, lake, etc.) or returns to the sea. This is the water cycle.

There are (as mentioned by others) a number of solar projects capable of providing water via pumping. The issue is usually (as you state) a high cost. Frequently, the women in a village are charged with the duty of pumping water all day long. Low continuous flow of water from a solar driven system is a viable option.

There are a host of problems in many countries with borehole pumps that remove water from the aquifer and it then runs to the sea and is transpired by the crops.

Many aquifers are charged far away and surface rundown does not reach them as they are beneath impervious layers. Some are "fossil water".

As it gets deeper the electricl cost goes up as well, to the point where they consume a large part of grid capacity and the farmers pay below cost for the electricity and it has become politicised and the rates cannot go up to market cost. So they cut the hours/day

In South Africa we call it boreholes. Spell checkers want to change it to brothel

Result : Solar powered brothels.

Dear Mr Goud,

I hope you have received your reply for the query.

what you require is a solar powered pump, which can pump the water from the ground and supply to your fields. These products can improve your productivity as you no longer have to rely on the local electricity supply. We can supply many kinds of solar products like solar pump system, solar water spray system, etc.

If you have any queries or need more information please email me on dhrupesh@pavs.biz

Thank you
