Can Not "Reply"

Whenever I try to reply to a discussion the message box "greys out" and will not accept typing or a "paste". What am I doing wrong?

Interesting - If I "cannot reply" how can I answer the question?

OH - by the way - I did figure out a way to reply - we use Lotus Notes which somehow opens a browser window (or something like that). If I go on the internet I'm able to reply. But thanks.
