Reynolds No. Vs Friction Factor

Please tell me, why on flow over a flat plate (for example), friction factor is decreasing with increase in Reynolds number. What is the basic physics behind this?

Have a look at this and pay particular attention to transition reynolds number. Damn, I just remembered I forgot my tylenol!
