Heat Reflective Fabric/Material

08/20/2010 6:02 AM

We are searching for a lightweight, breathable fabric/material that would reflect the heat generated by an individual while he/she is inactive in a cold environment (temp. range from -10 to +40 degrees F) Ideas???? anyone. We have looked at PCM's (phase change materials) but these do not meet our requirements.

Here's a few things I found by consulting the mysterious and powerful Google:

http://www.jongstit.com/warmalite.html

http://www.afminc.com/thermoflect.asp

http://www.radiantbarrier.com/temptrol.htm

Hope that helps. If any of those work for you, my finder's fee is a cutsom-tailored jacket.

Except for the breathable part, sounds like the definition of a Space Blanket.

I'm thinking a metallized breatheable polyethylene (PE) film pattern-laminated to an insulating blanket type fabric like that Warmalite stuff.

Search for [film metallization] and [breatheable polyethylene].

You might want to check out Temptrol heat reflecting fabric. It can be used in a number of applications, including clothing, blankets, curtains, etc. Located in Texas.
