Can anyone help me how to get API Certification for producing API Threads,etc

A vague question generates similarly vague answers.

It would seem you have to contact the appropriate certifying authority for the operating system(s) in question, and/or the software company or companies whose products would be involved. Be prepared to pay for this in one form or another, either through membership, as a separate fee, or both.

What in the heck are API threads?? My first impression was to buy, beg, borrow, or steal a pipe threading machine, with a die for the sized pipe you are threading, and going to work on it... no certification necessary.
