Dow Therm Boiler

09/05/2010 5:19 AM

we have a dowtherm boiler of 30.0 kW as electrical load. We do not know the rate of evaporation of dowtherm fluid. For its line sizing how to estimate its evaporation rate ?

You are evaporating the DowTherm? Normally ity is used as a heat transfer fluid in its liquid state not as a vapor. Am I wrong?

The whole point of the Dowtherm series of fluids is that they remain in the liquid phase at elevated temperatures. Good point!

Where is the manual? Where is the commissioning report?

Will take you to the physical properties of the various dowtherm fluids. As has been mentioned generally the whole point is to use the fluid in its liquid state to avoid all the boiling issues. Although I do believe some are suitable to be used for vaporising / condensing.
