Rain Shade Provided in Cable

could anybody explain the advantages of providing rain shade in cable termination.

I take it you mean rain sheds

They increase the creepage path on a cable termination and prevent a continuous path for rain to run down in to the cable crutch.

Yes. The manufacturers of such things can. Make a few calls to them to find out.
