I want to take tapping of 4 " from 10 " size. But after welding of 4" branch i am not in position to perform Hydrotest or Rediography. So what NDT i have to perform and which standard allow it to do so.

banu.....

Specifically, what type of branch connection have you made ?

Importantly, which piping code is being used for this system ?

Is your branch a weldolet, a "pad-reinforced" or is it some other type of engineered branch design ?

Surely, it must not be one of those third-world abominations, an "unreinforced branch" connections, also known as a "stub-in"....right ?

What is the design pressure and temperature of this system ?

Our branch connection is stub in type and having rainforcement pad . so is it required to perform Hydrotest or RT or We can use PT AND MPI.

Piping code is B 31.3

In addition to the specified B31.3 piping code, there may be local requirements and contract specifications involved. None of this other information has been given. Nor do we know what type of services this is; nor do we know what pressures and pipe schedules are being used.
