Some laptops have a jumper on the motherboard that you can use to clear the CMOS to the original default. This will solve the password problem.
Search the net until you find a manual for your model.
Search in the manual to see if there is a procedure to clear the CMOS.
Follow the procedure if there is one.
Do not try doing this without knowing exactly what the procedure says, or you may damage the computer.
If it is the password to get into Windows, then you may have to erase the hard drive (since you won't be able to get into Windows) and install a new operating system, unless you have the original system disks that came with the computer.

I realize that your trying to help out, BUT, this guy's not making sense. First, it was a forgotten password and how to bypass.
Then, it was given to him by a customer. This all smells like a crock of $hit.
If you were to give away your computer, wouldn't you just do a factory restore as opposed to giving it away with your passwords and information in tact?
This guy's full of crap!!!!

Yes, there is not much coherency going on with this guy. However, I see so much broken English on this site that I thought to take language barrier into account on this one, giving him the benefit of the doubt.
However, since you mention it, I have reevaluated his reply:
thanks man,it was given to me by a customer i opened it and discovered that the cmos battery with it's base has been detached from the mother board
Allow me to interpret:
thanks man, I was able to lay my hands on this cool laptop when nobody was looking, er, I mean it was given to me by a customer i opened it and discovered that the cmos battery with it's base has been detached from the mother board, which probably happened when I yanked it off the desk, not knowing that there were other wires connected.
Now, he either stole it or can't communicate well enough due to a language barrier or to being very, very stupid (he DID register).
Maybe this post will get a response from him (or her)!
Hey, did you actually see and take a picture of the Luna moth? Is the humidity starting to abate yet?

I already know it's a Luna moth (duh!). My question purposed to know if it was physically there and is your avatar a result of having taken a photo of it.
Don't bet on a response from the OP.
No doubt in my mind after all this. We scared him away because we've "got his number"; he's probably wondering how he can erase his registration information from Globalspec!
It's comprised of every creature that's wandered into my yard. Quite impressive.
I am fascinated by wildlife, mostly reptiles, amphibians and insects. If it's so impressive, why don't you post the photos here, maybe as a blog article?
Nice to meet you too. I lived in NC (Wilmington) for about 10 years, but moved here to OH nearly 2 years ago. I DO NOT miss the humidity.
Best Regards,
Mike
