Small Scale ORC Power Gen

09/20/2010 4:53 PM

Hi there

Looking at MIT students solar project in Lesotho, I wonder if this technology could not be mass produced at a very cheap rate, providing electricity for various applications. Maybe cheaper - though not quite as maintenance free - than PV.

Here is one link among several to this project: http://cee.mit.edu/node/2661

If I recall correctly, simply pressing the edges of a springy sheet toward each other will make the sheet parabolic, without need of templates, molds, or the like. If so, this is really easy to make. (But don't look at it with your eye next to the focal tube!)

Solar energy is mama papa shop and can be done in the back yard as long as it is not to compete with big guys who not only makes it but makes to appeal mass and is organized labor fashion.

Tata BP Solar retirees are giving three weeks training to make solar product as long as one has two hands to work with and have money to buy component will make usable products.

I have taught good number of people how to do this and still like to do if any one is interested only thing is not interested to travel long distance

I have 3 KW and 10 KW ORC system and call them 'HIMM -The Cool Energy' Binary Cycle Power Generation System.

I use R-245fra + a catalyst as the powering media and a thermic oil for heating media. The system requires 270 gm of biomass per hour for 10 KWH unit and 87 gm for 3 KWH Unit.
