CFD Analysis of Two Phase Flow

09/21/2010 10:08 AM

I am doing CFD analysis of two phase (Water-Air) flow in T junction vertical channel of 2 mm diameter. Will I gravity affects on flow patterns for such a mini channel?

If it's 2-phase in that section, I would think yes.

It depends upon the strength of the gravitational field.

What about swirl, though?

If you mention 2 phase flow this means that you have air bubbles. The effect of gravity will be function of the relative bubble dimension with respect to the channel diameter.

Around every bubble there is a layer which has a thickness depending on the relative speed between bubble and fluid flow.
