i'm a student persuing final year mechanical enginering. i would like to do my final year project on the air conditioning of automobiles by using waste heat of gases. could any one suggest me to do my project.
Sounds interesting, but it was my understanding that waste heat from the engine was already utilised for heating the vehicle interior. Are you intending to try and use the waste heat to cool the interior also, if so how? What ideas do you have so far to cool the vehicle interior?
If you are thinking of using 'peltier' devices in any way, think again as these won't work (see numerous previous discussions on CR4).
I'm not sure that the temperature or heat flux would be enough to make an effective system, but you might look at absorption refrigeration such as ammonia/water or water/lithium bromide.
