Wall Thickness

example 4" dia cs pipe AOP=100 PSI(allowable operating pressure) then how can find out pipe wall thickness?.

  • By doing a force balance on a theoretical slice down a diameter.
  • Or one can use a pipe that is appropriately rated for the temperature and pressure by selecting it from tables.

For pipe wall thickness calculation please check Para No:304 of AMSE B31.3.
