Dear Sir,

Can any one of suggest how to check the CFM of AHU and required instruments, and the Calculation of CFM capacity of AHU.

I can't find a reference right now, but will not velocity of the air form velocity pressure readings obtained by a Pitot tube grid test, and then multiplying by the cross sectional area of the duct give you the volume of the CFM?

The equation would be some form of the Bernoulli's equation. I think it would come from something like:

pressure (static) + pressure (velocity) = pressure (total)

pressure (static) + {air density X [(Velocity)squared]}/2 X g

If there is a heat source from which a temperature difference can be taken, and the energy consumed by the heat sources in raising the temperature is known, the formula

CFM = Heat added/[1.10 X (Temperature Difference)] may apply.

I would be careful risking my reputation on these solutions, but it is interesting for discussion.

Figure it out and try it, then get back to us. Keep the units straight.
