First you ensure I/P convertor working is oK by applying 4 mA & 20 mA DC current to it correspond to 03 psi & 15 psi output pressure then by appling the same current to I/P, calibrate the Valve positioner for rated out put to control for correspond 0 % & 100 % opening of control valve.

In case you have I/P convertor cum valve positioner, Apply 4 mA DC current & set the rated output pressure by zero adjustment for 0 % opening of control valve. Now Apply 20 mA DC current & set the rated output pressure by Span adjustment for 100 % opening of control valve.

No.

You may try it & see hunting in o/p of I/P as well as control valve due to bi- directional property of AC current.

Usualy control valve(cv),received signal pneumatic 3 to 15 psi or 6 to 30 psi.this cv can direct received signal or use I/P converter.we talk about cv with I/P.

instal supply about 30 psi to I/P.connect signal cable to I/P,if you use mA calibrator, please give input 4mA,look at position scale of opening cv must be 0% (use zero adj I/P to correct opening),give 20 mA and opening will be 100% (use span adj for correct),next give 8 mA for 25%,12mA for 50% and 16mA for 75%.Remember you will found control valve ATO (air to open) or ATC ( air to close).good luck)

Calibration? Eh?

They can be set up, if that is what is meant by the question, by following the manufacturer's instructions.
