Welding Manager

09/30/2010 8:52 AM

Can you tell me the names a nonconductive material? I'm looking for something nonconductive and hard and you can grind and shape and will last along time. I am a welding manager at pk tool. You can e-mail me at jwalling@pktool.com

Thank you,

James Walling

You need the LynDoor™ "Ready Reference to Nonconducting Material for Nebulous Applications" software package. It's specifically designed to comply with Rule # 75 of this forum.

It's available for download at: WWW.LynDoorIndustries.yuk.

Or, do as my associate suggests and let us know what you are trying to accomplish.

The volume my esteemed associate refers to is comprehensive, and well worth the king's ransom price printed on the cover.

But if you will order in the next thirty minutes (because we cannot offer this all day), we will include for no additional cost a copy of 'CR4 Manual of Self Promotion'. Chapter three will explain CR4 Rule #75. The explanation is one sentence long and contains no useful information.

Depending on what you mean by "hard," a common solid insulation used in electrical equipment goes by the trade name of Glastic (do a Google search). It is a fiberglass reinforced plastic that can be drilled, sawed, ground, etc. It is usually available in sheets of various thicknesses (1/4", 3/8", etc.) and I suppose in solid blocks or cylinders. See also this link:

Various ceramics might work, or Bakelite.
