What is the purpose? You are not supposed to even think about it. If you think the energy meter is fast, ask the utility company to test it.

What's the rating of the meter? Is it fed via CT's?

There is only one way to do this... Reduce your consumption of electrical energy!

Anything else is illegal and is a theft of power that the remainder of the customer base must absorb by way of higher energy costs.

Here is a link that you might want to visit and absorb from. It may help you both...

What the .... has 'morality' have to do with this , besides it being illegal in most jurisdictions? - or is that your pointed question?

Morality and ethics are a personal choice. How a person chooses to live their life speaks volumes about who they are and what things they hold to be true.

Your comment tends to show me that you are using the opinion you expressed as an excuse for your own choices in life and nothing more.

One of the only things we have in life that is truly ours is how we choose to live our lives. You may elect to state that morality is "already dead", but I offer to you that morality is only dead if you as a person choose to consider it as such.

You may be content with such a shallow view of life, I do not share your view nor do I think that the majority of good people do either.

These choices are yours to make or not, pure and simple...

Unplug items that consume electricity. The more items you unplug, the slower the meter will turn. Unplug everything and you can bring it to a full stop.

Ok - try this - put a large heavy magnet next to, beside the meter and this will definitely slow down the electronics inside the meter - Hey, it worked in the past when they had metallic discs, and before they wised up and changed to aluminum mechanisms - or failing that - remove the meter, and place it back in upside down - it should run backwards, and you can expect a large refund from your utility company - just trying to help out. - Loupy

Re: Slow Down the Electronic Energy Meter

Many years ago I attended a HV course by the East Midlands EB. One of the tutors gave us a tour of their black museum. Mainly to see some of the nasties that had occurred on the HV system. But there was a LV section as well.

There were some incredible meter fiddles on show.

A carving knife rammed through the glass front of the meter to jamb the disc.

A darning needle pushed through the two lives to bypass some of the load.

Tilted to one side at about 30 deg.

Hand gel in side the casing

And my favourite, an ex EB employee ran 3 electrical retain outlets. Window displays lit up all night, but the bills for each shop remained low. EB enter one shop, go to the service cut-out, remove cut-out, lights still on? They had to dig up the road at each shop to find the breach joints in the distribution cables. The ex-employee had been a cable jointer.

It is amazing to witness this third world mentality as a carryover from the barter system and the rejection of a fixed price for goods or services rendered.

More time and effort are wasted trying to get around the system than is actually realized, including the real possibility of incarceration.

Also the third world mentality when they immigrate to western countries is to give birth to children as much as they can to abuse the well-fair system and to receive money from the government and to make majority on the long run and control the country they immigrated to.

Sir ,only the immigrants from the Middle East are doing that, not all the third world immigrants.

Sure the Middle East immigrants more intelligent than the other third world immigrants.

Unfortunately, many of UK politicians including princes get secret gifts from the oil princes in the middle east and they close their eyes.

What??? Where is your logic for calling the theft of electricity "intelligence"?

Here's mine for how stupid it is.

1) You are "intelligent" enough to devise a system to cheat the utility of power.

2) Other people find out how to do it.

3) Word spreads all over and soon masses of people are cheating the utility.

4) The utility fails due to lack of income.

5) EVERYONE is without power, or the utility is taken over by the government, at which point the efficiency goes to hell in a hand basket and we are all taxed heavily to support it.

Yes, very "intelligent"...

Re: Slow Down the Electronic Energy Meter

Suppose, you are running the power company? Ask your meter supplier for the plug -between interface and the software. Connect to a laptop and change the parameters. It is that simple. Here they do regular double checks with 2 meters and you would be surprised how mis- calibrated they can be, both installed by the power company.

At least the old ones you could see turning. The newest editions come even with permanent log file, remote reading and real time. If you even try something with those meters, the power company monitor room knows it faster than yourself.

We come into an era that we must trust our supplier blindly, while he can "adapt" your bill a volonte and becomes as free as a US banker. Here is what the differences were between two parallel ran meters?

If you are fast, the runs are still going on for a while. To your health, enjoy. I had these differences in a 11 day run:

120V + 120 Volts with center tap. Any ideas? 1,8364

1,75

2,33

1,994

1,501

2,667

No real multiplier in place. This is evolution? Morality? To be continued. D
