Tannery Pond Hydroelectric Rebuild

10/03/2010 11:54 AM

Hey Guys:

My son, Will and I have been busy rebuilding a small hydro plant in Winchendon, MA. See the following webpage that details our efforts:

Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Bill Fay

cwarner -- These folks are pretty special. Take a look on their website at some of the other small hydroelectic projects they have taken on. Especially the one where "Dad" maneuvers an ancient mobile crane down a path that you or I would hesitate to walk down.

What's scary is that there are so few young active people in our society that possess the kind of knowlege the Fays have.

Another fascinating project.

Seeing it reminded me that I haven't visited your site for a while, which means that there is almost certainly some new technical information there, as well as new project details.

More power to the Fays.

Hey Guys:
I finally got my 120 inch Niles Boring Machine operational. It has taken 14 months and $32,000 to restore it. It is a big, beautiful beast!!! I loaded the back head cover of our Indian River Hydro Plant into it last night. The part weighed 3100 pounds. I need to make 14 more tee nuts for the table slots this morning so I can tie the part down.
Sincerely,
Bill Fay
