Heat Gain Specific

10/09/2010 1:09 PM

Hey Guys,

I need some help about what is heat gain output from archive equipment in restoration renvotation workshop, for example here list:

Vacuum Cleaner

Microscope

Dry Cleaning

Steam Ironing

Cutting Tools,

Photocopier

Scanner

Book scanner

Laboratory Lamp

Compactor Projector

As I am doing my final year project with IES (Integrated Environmental Simulation) to determine the heat gain load from the space. I could not find anything useful information of these heat gain output from these equipment. Do you know any information from somewhere or with your help knowledge would be much great.

This must be homework day.

Total power consumption vs efficiency = heat gain.

If you want us to give you specific values for each item, forget it.

Do your own research. That's how you learn..

Add up all the wattages times the fraction of time they are active; then multiply by 3.41 Btu/watt-hour.

Most appliances contribute both sensible and latent heats. The latent heat produced depends on the function the appliances perform. Electric motors contribute sensible heat to the conditioned space. A part of the power input is directly converted into heat due to the inefficiency of the motor and is dissipate through the frame of the motor..The rest of the power is used by the driven mechanism for doing work which may not result in heat gain to the space. This depends on whether the energy input goes to the conditioned space or outside it.
