hey

Oxygen sensor it mainly on exhaust manifold but it is not adviseable to change it. always take help from Authorised Hyundai Service station.

Oxygen sensor is used to measure the amount of oxygen in car's engine

also specified its breathing efficiency, chemical is present (Zirconia) its amount vary car to car.

so my advice dont to it yourself its not a easy work.

Peter7

just go thru the entire post carefully i hv alrdy mentioned in previeous post also..

again it is equipted for measuring oxygen content in car exhaust manifold so that the exhaust gases like sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons not released to atmosphere n it also take care of breathing effeiciency..

the next thing is that if the exhaust gases hv less oxygen content which is moniter by chemical present in oxygen sensor (Zirconia) than unburnt gases gose to catalytic convertor(2way or 3 way) n it vil convert it into less harmful.....!!!

if it was not reinstall properly than whole process from Intake to exhaust process get disturbed n it vill harm all other process.....

got it now!!!

Thanks but i do know what the O2 sensor does.

What you don't know is that the information it sends is reset when the engine is turned of then turned back on again.

So your statement is incorrect.

when the sensor is changed the engine management will receive the information as soon as the engine is running and it will all be fine.

as the plug can only be connected one way you cannot replug it incorrectly

the only danger is the removal of the unit from the manifold ie it may break thats all

that can go wrong

OK?

GA Pete.

And spark plugs are very important, and send the entire electrical signal to each and every cylinder. For that reason, all spark plugs should only be changed by the dealership. And just to be sure, you should take it back to the dealer that sold it to you. To be extra safe, only allow the salesman that sold the car to you should be allowed to change the oil also. Where will it end?
