Selection of Main Breaker for Starters

Hi Friends,

How can i calculate the rating of main breaker for motor starters, DOL starters and Star-Delta Starters?

This is one of those questions that, if you have to ask it, you probably aren't qualified to do the work, and should hand it on to someone who is qualified.

Consult your local electrical code/regulations. They will have something such as multiplying the full load current by a specified number, which may depend on the type of circuit breaker being used.

If you need Type 2 co-ordination as per IEC, the recommendation must come from the supplier of contactor+relay. Usually, reputed manufactureres also make MCCBs and publish co-ordination tables.
