Please see this site and you will find everything about design.

Please also download Demo version of Volts Software and it has an excellent help files if you are designing based on NEC.

AutoCad is a drafting and design program and while it is usefull for alot of things, it does not calculate or balance loads. You can use spreasheets to organize and list all the loads, but again AutoCad does not do the design for you.

There is one program that I know of that comes close to do all these calcualtions for you for commercial buildings. It will do basic lighting calculations and placement, calculate the loads and spit out a basic single line diagram complete with feedersizes and volteg drop calculations. But as with any software program, you must have a thorough understanding of electrical design to be able to rely on the product. As with anything, garabage in, garbage out.

If you are interested, you can visit their website.

dear friend,

The question is not clear, the building that has been designed , means are you referring to architectural/ structural or electrical or entire part of building services.

Considering u r referring to work out total load requirement with 3 phase equally distribution network.

U need to work out lighting layout for various area of building separately with common area e.g, stairs, passage etc.

U need to work out variuos connected load other than lighting load e.g, computer network uit lets, ups, printers, xerox, and appliance at pentry/escalators, fire alarm system, sprinkeres, etc., water system, sound and music system if any , external capus/open area lighting , access contraol and so on.

On completion of above detail wotk out emenrgency back up power requirement if any.

Having tabulated over all work out SLD from point of receving of power till all point of power utilization/consumtion. Distribute 1 phase equipment load equally.

Hope, this is enough

Regards
