Blanket Oven at Surgery Center

10/22/2010 8:40 AM

A big GA to the person that invented the blanket oven for operating rooms. I know that this isn't a question, but as I am recovering from surgery earlier this week I still remember how nice it was to get a pre heated blanket. As I was laying there with needles and tubes and a lack of proper clothing it was a wonderful surprise to have the blanket that I asked for nice and hot. GA to someone.

BruceFlorida,

Hope you are doing well and the surgery was not too intrusive. Speedy recovery to you.

I agree 100% about the warm blankets. I had surgery on Oct. 1st and thought I may have been mistakenly dropped off at the meat locker instead of the recovery room.

No blanket has ever felt as good as those warm blankets they brought.

Cheers and get well soon.

Lyn

I'm glad to hear that you are OK, too.

wish you a fast recovery.....a warm blanket is comforting.......

they keep the temperature cold to make it hard for the bugs to get a foot hold...(incubate)

I can't agree more. The coldest I have ever been was waking up in the recovery room after four hours of abdominal surgery. My teeth were chattering so hard I felt in danger of breaking them. The oven heated blankets were wonderful, better than sex. They were at the time, anyway.
