VideoConference Equipment

03/16/2007 3:41 PM

My company has an old videoconference system made by PictureTel a company that is no longer in existance. This system runs off a pc that uses Windows NT and ISDN lines (2 channels) routed through a T1 line which is running the corporations website. I know little about this system. Our system currently does not work (more details are available upon request).

Is there anyone who can work on this system in the Indianapolis area? If not, what other types of videoconference equipment are people using today that work well (including internationally - Europe & Asia)? What should we be looking at to replace this old system? We will probably update three systems in the US alone when we find what we want.

I apoliogise if this is not the correct place to make such a posting. Maybe someone can direct me to an appropriate place to do so. Thanks for your assistance.

Best Regards,

Jim

If it's just a matter of getting a replacement part for your broken system, I'd try ebay. I found replacements for both my 1982 NuTone intercom and my Dad's 1963 Talk-A-Radio intercom there.

If you want a new system - I don't know much about them.

Don't know anything about the Indianapolis area, but if you post some more details about exactly what it's doing or not doing, someone here may be able to help you diagnose/fix it.

Mike

There are many good VideoConferencing products from Polycom (http://www.polycom.com/home/). I have used many of their products. They also have many other conferencing products / services (Video, voice etc.)
