High Speed Pumps

11/08/2010 8:38 AM

Does anyone know of any pumps that can fill a volume of 3.44 cc of a liquid that has the viscosity of about 4000-9000 cPs at a fast rate of 150-300/ minute?

Thank you,

Tom

It's the sort of application that needs a fast-acting solenoid valve, not a pump.

I'm not sure of terminology, but I envision a single-stroke piston pump sixed at 3.44 cc, operating off a constantly pressurized manifold that refills the piston on each upstroke. Maybe search on something like "liquid dispensing (or metering) pump"?

Maybe "plunger pump"?

Check out FMI (Fluid Metering Inc) in NY state (I have no connection with them). They make a ceramic piston metering pump, with adjustable stroke. I'm not sure if they get up to 300/min. If not, you might have to look at metering/dispensing systems, rather than pumps. Nordson Corporation do a lot of stuff for metering/dispensing adhesives.

A metering pump rated for high viscosity will work.

I can size one for you. I have the ability to go to 20,000 CPS, 150 PSI, and

flows to 37.9 LPH.

Is it to fill a series of little bottles? In this case, you'll need 2 ore more dosing pumps.

They come with adjustable stroke and a turntable to feed the bottles. (like the 1 dose shampoo and soap, used in hotels).
