Recommended Practice - Tank Farm

Hi,

Theres a tank farm , with all tanks seperated by a dike -with a common road running from North to South. There are some level instruments and Air Operated Valves For each tank

May I know what is the industry practice for installing Junction Box

Q1) For each tank One Number of Junction box located inside Dike

or can we select

Q2) One Number of Junction Box for Two tanks adjacent to each other, located in the main road

2 is to be preferred on the basis that it uses half the number of junction boxes than 1.

Normal Industrial practise is to take the instrument cables to respective instruments after the dyke wall in cable trays. If your dyke wall in not concreted you can use UPVC conduits or GI conduits, you can select a common location for the location of the junction box, so that you can use cable trench to take cables after the dyke wall to junction box.

Are you going to use LC cables, Does all instruments are connected to common control? Answer this, so that i can explain you further with alternate solutions too.
