Interface Relay Panel

11/10/2010 3:51 AM

I am in power plant project, I am about to replace teh Existing Interface Relay panel (IRP) which is the relay panel between MCC and DCS to switch the relay to accomplish start and status of the motor.

In the existing IRP panel, signal is taken for P01A & P01B, But actually we have only P01 A in the field. Can any one clarify this. Is signal is duplicated here from p 01B.

Normally , when we project a plant, every time use the Philosophy of possibility expansion in the Plant .So when installing and connecting MCC with Marshalling (IRP )and DCS, every time we have some "Gost" in the plant. What I mean is , You see the motor in DCS because is connected from MCC, but actually in the field do not exist .

If you replace the IRP with a new one good Idea is to make some spare position, and connect both side ( MCC and DCS ).
