Check the pull-down menus (or Help) for "Panes". It will tell you how to select as many rows as you wish to stay permanent.

I'm looking in my "Excel for Dummies" book. Back to you tomorrow. What's a cursor?

I just did F1 for Help, typed "panes" in the search window, and got about a dozen items. The second one was "Freeze or lock rows and columns." Maybe our Excel versions are different.

In Excel 2007:

Click on View from the top menu.

Click on Freeze Panes. Then click Freeze Top Row.
