Dual Redundant & Hotstandby

Dear All,

What is the difference between Hot-Standby and Dual Redundant System? Also please explain more in details.

hot stand by i have seen in rose mount temperature transmitters . its very usefull when one element get fail.

DUAL REDUNDANT can be HOT or COLD Stanby. All Hot standby are dual redundant, but all dual redundant are not necessarily HOT Standby.
