Truck Seems to Lose Power Going Up Hill

One suggestion would be to provide more info, like how many miles, how steep of a hill and what troubleshooting you have done yourself so far.

One thing it could be is a clogged fuel filter.

It's 15 years old with lots of miles on it. Your compression is probably way down from it's prime. This is more apparent when going up hill. Loss of compression = loss of power. Suggestions:

Rebuild engine

Buy new truck

Buy new engine

Learn to live with it

Using a heavier weight oil might give it a little more power and prolong the inevitable for a little while.

Have you checked the compression? Could be low compression. Possibly worn camshaft as it needs more air under load. Air filter, fuel filter, wouldn't hurt checking plugs or wires. Other than that, if you aren't getting a code, that should be it.
