It is dosed for chemical de-aeration. Mostly there are two chemicals will be added in boiler feed water for de-aeration. They are hydrazine & ammonium hydroxide.
can we have any idea how often they are added and how much? because once ammonia hydroxide is added into the process, corrosion will take place in pipe. we are looking at the corrosion level for seals at rate of 0.05 mm/year. is this bearable in case of stainless steel.
It's an acidity regulator that doesn't need blowing down.
Keep the feedwater pH around 8.5 and everything will be tickety-boo.
